I have owned a few Omegas over the years and my son in law and a family friend still own the first two that I bought new. A friend gave me one with a roached barrel and a synthetic thumbhole stock which he was going to trash I sold the barrel and action to a member here. Then I bought the one with the Thumbhole Laminate from a local gun dealer who doesn't like dealing with muzzle loaders. Switched the barrel and scope to the synthetic stock for hunting. Then the $60.00 action became available, and I took it as a sign that I need a smokeless Omega. Between Knight MK 85s, Knight DISC, TC Omegas and CVA Acura's I have way more MLs than I practically need but a smokeless Omega makes sense with the rules in Indiana being ML friendly.

Glad yo hear than you're goin Omega SML. I'll have at least 3 of them when I'm done. I'm a big Accura fan too. I post all the time how much I like my .45 Accura V2. I shoot that gun far more than any other ML I own. Plz keep ua apprised to your build progress & pics when its done.

Absolutely will I have a lot of smokeless powders and only shoot what I load in both rifles and shotguns so I will start researching what I will need to get started once I speak with Woodman and a decision is finalized.
👍

Talked with Mark this morning. Decided on a 45 cal. 26 inch Brux barrel, 1 in 18 twist, cut rifling, threaded for a brake, nitride and breech plug set up with the rifle primer modules. He is going to install the action for me. Will post pics when it is in my hands. Thanks for the help.
Outstanding. Great choices

What’s the difference in plugs for rifle primers other than the modules.
Anybody ?

I think that SML is going to be real SWEET.

I can't wait to get it into the stock with a nice scope. Then the real work of deciding on full bore or saboted bullets, powder and so on. I am going to research powder and bullet combos so that I can have stuff on hand for load development. Have plenty of primers so that eliminates one part.

I start out with sabots the first year to get comfortable with smokeless. I have been shooting land riders for the past 11 years. I prefer it over sabots.

You will not regret going smokeless!! If this is your first smokeless, and if you have other smokers, they about to get alot of rest......🤣🤣......

Not much. Woodmans adjustable plugs use a slightly different insert for modules vs 209s.
Thanks, I think I’m gonna reach out to Mark and get that set up. I like being able to use either ignition. My Scout is set up for 209 or the brass modules..

Assuming you’re using Marks plug in one of his barrels. The only other specific is that the barrel has to be one of the newer versions with a slightly deeper rear sealing shoulder.

Yes on Mark’s barrel. I’ve got one of his Brux Omega’s.

For the guys who are considering going this route. I called early in the morning and received a callback a couple of hours later. Mar was very easy to speak with and was able to help with questions and helped me decide based on what my plans were for the gun. He said that he has barrels ready for Nitride now so turn around should be pretty quick even with him installing the action for me. I offered to send a deposit on the barrel, but he said we could take care of it in one payment when the barrel was completed and ready to ship. A really good experience overall and I look forward to doing more business with him down the road. I may have forgot to tell you guys that my buddy has a couple of Encore frames with rusted 50 cal barrels on them.
