New to the muzzleloader family. Went with a borrowed gun for the last two years and finally bought one. I bought a Woodman 50 cal G2, topped it with an aimpoint red dot, 1 pound of BH209, 300 grain ballistic extreme sabots, and 300 grain star tip sabots. My question is is there some peeps on here that can steer me towards their favorite loads and results? And yes I believe in buy once cry once....lol.

For elk, I would not use the ballistic extremes. They are very soft. The 300 gr Furies wouldn’t be my first choice either for elk. My preference for elk is a very heavy conical or a controlled expansion bullet like a Barnes or Nosler Partition type bullet. The bonded TC 300 gr Shockwaves are also a good elk bullet.
